Fence Pickets - Stencil Method
- Locate Print D1 on Stencil Sheet D. Refer to Fig. 13. Working
on the right side of the gate, align the bottom of D1 with
Line FB and the left edge of the cut out with the first vertical
line to the right of the post. Secure in place, mark the Triangle
Register Marks, and roll the picket and cross piece with white
paint. Continue to the right, lining up, marking the registration,
and rolling the pickets and cross pieces until you reach the
end of the wall. Wipe the stencil with a damp sponge every
few pickets so the paint does not build up on the stencil
and make the opening smaller. On the last picket, do not paint
the cross piece, however, you will need to paint one more
cross piece between the post and the first picket.
You will now paint the bottom half of the pickets on the left
of the gate. Align the bottom of Print D1 with Line FB and
the left edge of the cut out with the first vertical line
to the left of the post. Secure in place, mark the Triangle
Register Marks, and roll the picket and cross piece. Continue
all the way across the wall. Clean and dry the stencil thoroughly.
You are now ready to paint the upper portions of the pickets.
The stencil must be flipped end over end in the same manner
as when the gate pickets were painted. The height of the cross
piece will match those of the gate and there will be a cross
piece above all those on the bottom half of the fence. Align
the Triangle Register Marks on the stencil with the dots on
the wall. Roll all of the upper pickets and cross pieces on
both sides of the gate. The white portions of the fence are
now complete. Do not remove the railing mask yet. |
|
| Pickets - Taping Method - The Pickets of the fence may be
marked and taped the same way they were done for the gate.
Refer to Fig. 9A. Use Stencil piece D1 as a measuring tool. |
|
| All of the white stenciling is now done.
