This version of our 1-Hour Fire Wall Stencil is made from 1/8" rigid LLDPE plastic — thick enough to hold its shape flat against the wall with one hand while you spray with the other. No tape, no second person, no setup time. Just press, spray, and move to the next mark. For spray paint application only.

Why Proper Fire Wall Marking Matters

Labeling fire-rated walls is a legal requirement on commercial and multifamily construction projects across the United States. NFPA 5000 and IBC Section 703.5 mandate that fire-rated walls be permanently marked at regular intervals with lettering no less than 3 inches in height. Unmarked or improperly marked walls can fail inspection and delay your project close-out.

StencilEase stencils are the most permanent, easiest, and least expensive way to meet this requirement. Unlike adhesive labels that peel, fade, or fall off before inspection, a stenciled marking is paint on the wall — it can't be removed, and it paints right over when the wall is finished.

Code-Compliant Wording — Standard and Custom

Our fire wall stencils use NFPA-recommended wording for the most common fire-rated wall designations. If your local AHJ or fire district requires specific phrasing, alternate wording, or a non-standard letter size, use our custom stencil app to build exactly what you need.

1/8th inch (125 mil) LLDPE: Our Contractor Grade material makes a durable, reusable, precision stencil that can be used hundreds of times. Lays Flat and is heavy enough to be used with professional spray equipment.

1/16th inch (60 mil) LLDPE:  Our Standard Duty material has all the qualities of our Contractor Grade at half the weight. The lighter weight and lower price point is a great option for the non-professional. Can be used dozens of times and can be cleaned and stored for future maintenance.

10 mil Mylar: Our Laser-cut Mylar is an ultra-light flexible material that is perfect for signs, walls, floors, and tight work spaces. We also offer it as a low-cost option for school playground and athletic fields stencils. This flexible material and budget friendly price give you a lot of options.
